Because Crossfit Training involves some specific training movements and requires specific skills to get full benefit from the program, we require all participants to complete a Foundations series of 2-4 training hours.
Until now, the Foundations series alone has cost between $160 and $300. But we want you to try it - without risk (and without fear,) so you can see for yourself what it is, and why and how it's different (and more effective) than what you've been doing. What better way to decide than to try it out for yourself??

We will cover basic movements, history and philosophy of Crossfit, technique, nutrition, and the ten recognized general physical skills that make a strong and fit body: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
You'll leave with a sound understanding of what Crossfit is, and why it's so effective. Yes, there will be a workout included, and if you like it, you will be eligible to participant in Unlimited Classes at the SWAT Fitness South Tucson facility - just 20 minutes from nearly any point in town.... really!!! We've timed it!

In Crossfit, exercise technique is important for ensuring that you experience improved strength, flexibility, and performance beyond any level which you have experienced in the past.
That's why we require new participants to complete a workshop or a series of Foundations Sessions prior to participation in group classes. It's so that you have all the basics needed to perform successfully in the group workouts which we call the MODS (SWAT Mission of the Day)
The required Foundations Session introduces you to Crossfit so you can see what it's all about and if it's for you, and will focus on teaching you the principles of fitness foundations: Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy. You will learn fundamentals movements of Olympic lifting, kettlebells, and general Crossfit methods.
You may complete the Foundations requirement in one of two ways:
4 One on One Foundations Sessions with a Certified Trainer
These can be scheduled according to YOUR schedule, and can be done at any SWAT location that is convenient for you.
4 sessions = $300
OR - Approximately once a month we offer the Foundations
in a 4-hour Group Workshop format.

The Foundations requirement focuses on teaching the basics and fundamentals of Crossfit Training, including Olympic lifting, skills progressions, and a Crossfit MOD (Mission of the Day). This workshop satisfies the Foundations requirement and prepares participants for SWAT's Crossfit classes at the new facility.
