SWAT Fitness is a school of Elite Fitness located in Tucson, Arizona. Even if you don't consider yourself an athlete, you can train like one, no matter what your size, age, or fitness level. We teach basic to advanced level classes in functional exercise. What this means is that you'll do something different every day, to keep your routine varied, and your body from adapting.
Your SWAT fitness program may include elements from a variety of methodologies. But the benefit is you don't get bored, and you're constantly improving and assessing your progress! We focus on MOVEMENT; not muscles. We believe in functional movement, quality of life, and real-life exercises that improve your ability to perform in every aspect of your life, and in creating lean and fit bodies that can perform a variety of tasks efficiently and effectively. We aim to prepare yout to meet the challenges of your life on a daily basis, regardless of what those demands or tasks may be. Our programs are designed around improving your skill and performance in the following areas, which are referred to as "The 10 elements of fitness":
Cardiovascular / respiratory endurance: The ability of body systems to gather, process, and deliver oxygen.
Stamina: The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store, and utilize energy.
Strength: The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply force.
Flexibility: The ability to maximize the range of motion at a given joint.
Power: The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units, to apply maximum force in minimum time.
Speed: The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.
Coordination: The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement.
Agility: The ability to minimize transition time from one movement to another.
Balance: The ability to control the placement of the bodies center of gravity in relation to its support base.
Accuracy: The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.
Our students are extremely diverse in their experience, conditioning, and lives; and include students, business executives, stay-at-home moms, professional athletes, Special Forces and military personnel, police officers, and martial artists. And lots of people just like you. We utilize CrossFit and Kettlebells as our primary training methods at SWAT Fitness South, and focus on constant and continual assessment, goal achievement, progress, and RESULTS.
Our programs are based on functional movements that have been around for thousands of years. Whether you’re a beginner or have years of experience, functional training that closely parallels real life and sport movements, and that challenges your mind and body works the best – in spite of all the modern technology and machines you see at most gyms today.
When we combine this with variation, movements that require skill, balance, accuracy, agility and power, you’ve got our program. SWAT will present a workout that challenges you to your core, at whatever your level of experience.
